Intracoronary thrombus visualized by optical coherence tomography in a patient with antiphospholipid syndrome

چکیده

Abstract A patient with a history of deep venous thrombosis on warfarin underwent coronary angiography and was found to have red intracoronary thrombus in the mid left anterior descending artery by optical coherence tomography. Percutaneous intervention successfully performed. On discharge, continued triple therapy aspirin, clopidogrel, apixaban for 30 days then discontinued aspirin. hypercoagulable work up notable antiphospholipid syndrome lifelong anticoagulation recommended. The twice daily given recurrent while event free at 6-month follow up.

Intravascular Images of Coronary Stenosis with Multiple Channels in a Patient with Antiphospholipid Syndrome: The Optical Coherence Tomography Findings

Intravascular images of coronary stenosis by antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) would be beneficial to understand the mechanism of this disease. A 59-year-old woman with APS/systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) underwent emergent coronary angiography which revealed stenosis with micro channels in the proximal left anterior descending artery. According to optical coherence tomography (OCT), the centr...

Evaluation of intracoronary stenting by intravascular optical coherence tomography.

BACKGROUND Conventional contrast cineangiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) provide a limited definition of vessel microstructure and are unable to evaluate dissection, tissue prolapse, and stent apposition on a size scale less than 100 micro m. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the use of intravascular optical coherence tomography (OCT) to assess the coronary arteries in patients undergoing cor...

Images and Case Reports in Interventional Cardiology “Intracoronary Whirling Current Phenomenon” and Thrombus Formation After Sirolimus-Eluting Stent Implantation Visualized by Optical Coherence Tomography

We present a case of imaged “intracoronary whirling current phenomenon.” A 60-year-old Japanese man was treated with 2 sirolimus-eluting stents (SES; 3.0 18 and 3.5 33 mm) in the right coronary artery (RCA) for chronic total occlusion in October 2007. After percutaneous coronary intervention, he was taking 200 mg of aspirin and 200 mg of ticlopidine. However, he had recurrent transient ischemic...

Various types of plaque disruption in culprit coronary artery visualized by optical coherence tomography in a patient with unstable angina.

A 58-year-old man underwent cardiac catheterization for unstable angina. The coronary angiogram revealed severe stenosis of the right coronary artery. Although 20-MHz, phased-array intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) only visualized eccentric, low echoic plaque at the culprit site, optical coherence tomography (OCT) clearly revealed ruptured plaque and an intraluminal thrombus. OCT also revealed a ...

Experimental Visualization of Labyrinthine Structure with Optical Coherence Tomography

Introduction:Visualization of inner ear structures is a valuable strategy for researchers and clinicians working on hearing pathologies. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a high-resolution imaging technology which may be used for the visualization of tissues. In this experimental study we aimed to evaluate inner ear anatomy in well-prepared human labyrinthine bones.Materials and Methods:Thr...
